Desert Conclave

The Desert Conclave is a single-level pavilion that elegantly rises 30 inches above the sacred grounds of the desert. Nestled amidst the serene landscapes of Joshua Tree, this home is more than just a dwelling; it's a poetic interplay of nature and modernist design. The structure’s distinct feature is its gracefully curved concrete roof, a single arch-like dome that playfully alludes to the notion of 'cave dwellers.' This dome is not just a shelter but a bold statement in architectural design, seamlessly blending with the rugged beauty of the surrounding boulders and rocks.

As the sun sets, casting a warm glow over the desert, our design comes to life. Expansive glass windows break the barrier between indoors and out, inviting the mesmerizing desert vistas into every corner of the home. The use of inflatable form concrete construction is a nod to both innovation and sustainability. This pioneering technique involves inflating a durable plastic fabric form and coating it with concrete. The result? A construction process that's streamlined, cost-effective, and significantly faster than traditional methods, ideal for creating structures that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are functional.

This home is a testament to our design philosophy, where the style evolves in response to context, climate, and the environment. We've embraced a pure structural expression, allowing the building to emerge as a natural extension of its environment. The desert's sacred ground is respected and celebrated, while the home itself stands as a beacon of modernist design. Join us in Joshua Tree, where architectural experimentation and the beauty of the desert converge in perfect harmony.
